Date: June 10, 2005
Event: Southside Festival
Leg: Guero Tour - Leg One (Europe Summer)
Venue: Gewerbepark
City: Neuhausen ob Eck
Country: Germany
Notes:
This show was webcast as it happened on the Festival's website. Beck was on the blue stage on the Friday, with the other bands listed below.
The show opens with a little jam as Beck adlibs ("notice my biceps"), before kicking into a percussion-heavy "Devils Haircut" and "Black Tambourine."; There's a phat bass solo in "Beercan," before a short beatbox jam turns it into "Hell Yes."; There's quite a few songs where Beck doesn't play an instrument, just sings and dances. He seems to be having a blast though.; The horns of "Sexx Laws" have been replaced with "Girl"-like beeps. Beck and the Dancing Guy pretend to play banjos during the end also.; "The Golden Age" and "Clap Hands" are acoustic picnic versions, with the band banging on wine glasses and cutlery and fruit as Beck is on acoustic guitar. It's brilliant to watch. What fun!; Beck tosses a few lines of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" at the end of "Where It's At," admitting afterwards that he'd heard it backstage.;
