Notes: This Harry Smith Tribute Concert was monumental, but the Harry Smith Folk Collection was such a monument in music, that he deserved it. This concert lasted over five hours, and was reportedly 3 dozen singers attempting the 4 dozen songs on the collection.
During a Marianne Faithfull performance of "John The Revelator," Beck, Todd Rundgren and Steve Earle sang back-up gospel harmonies.
Then Beck did "Down On The Banks Of The Ohio" (with Steve Earle on guitar and the McGarrigles singing back-up") and "Last Fair Deal Gone Down" on his own (see it below).
Both nights, from what I can gather, were mostly identical; Beck's parts anyway seem to have been.
