Beck's almost-solid 15 months of touring behind Odelay comes to a climax as the headliner of the giant Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle. He was THE star on the lineup, and best I can tell, one of the first times he was the name at the top of a festival bill. (He'd been close to the top but usually one or two above him.) Ironically, there were only a couple of shows left on the Odelay tours.
There were tons of bands at this festival, and I could not find anywhere who played on Beck's day, let alone on the Main Stage before him.
Reports of this show seem focused on that Beck's set got insanely crowded, with lots of crowd control problems and crazy excitement.
