Notes:
This show was Beck's slot at the 2016 Governor's Ball Festival in New York. He played before The Strokes, who were headlining that night.
It was the first show after Justin Meldal-Johnsen had left the band, and the new bass player is named Dwayne Moore, who had previously been in Pharrell's live band. Having seen some clips from this show, Dwayne will fit in nicely.
Beck again tributed Prince, performing "Raspberry Beret" in full as he had done at the one prior show which followed Prince's death. He reminisced about hugging Prince on the Grammy stage; Prince was the presenter of the album-of-the-year award that Beck won for Morning Phase.
Highlights: "Go It Alone," "Blue Moon," "Dreams."
The "Where It's At" band introduction jams continue to be a lot of fun. Tonight, Jason switched up from his usual Rolling Stones riff to tribute David Bowie and got Beck to sing some of "China Girl." Roger then tried some Kraftwerk beats and Beck sang some of "Home Computer." Joey kicked them into a 2nd Prince tribute, and actually Jason sang lead on much of "1999." Cool mix of songs!
