Lyrics:
Bedroom Light [Live version (a)]:

A bedroom light I see it's on
Driving by in my fat-mobile
Now I know what it's like
To be a germ, it's a shutdown dear
To buy again, to buy again
The funny thing, it never ends
Pick it up, push it in
Rub it out, it's a soap dish
Cinnamon goes down again
Clinton does not move an inch
ESP will work it out
Open your window, give Chris a shout to me

Rock and roll, it's a shame
That you did all you did for fame
Seek it out of the grass
The funny thing, it's sassafras
...purple crap
Look at me and stitch a sap
Pinafore ?? a whore
Rock so bad on a ??
??
Lock me up in your bath robe
Come and shout and unlock the backdoor ?

Sippin' wine sipping lines
To be sure it's a worthy cause
Fun and games rotten tanx
I can't stay, hey Cher is hot
Hotter than hell sexcat style
Burnin' rubber on the AM dial
Wake me up another time
And now I know i'm blazed out
I know that you're a big girl
That's ok, I'll call in a chatroom
A fox on the run, fox in ??
Burning windmill another year

1, 2, 3, 4
$%^^^@$!$

The Song:

On March 8 1994, Beck, Thurston Moore, and Chris Ballew appeared on KXLU and improvised some "sporadic noise jams" (as Beck.com calls them). KXLU is a college radio station in Los Angeles. The three "songs" they did together were semi-released as a promo tape to give to journalists and industry people and the like. It's pretty rare.

The other two songs from the set are "Super Funky" and "Super Christ."

Thurston Moore used these lyrics on the song "Cindy (Rotten Tanx)" on his solo album, Psychic Hearts. That album came out about a year after this. However, right at the start of this song, Thurston announces, "this is called 'Bedroom Light'!" That's how it was released on this tape, and how I'll refer to it here.
