To make it feel more authentic, Beck filled out his Song Reader book with fragments of songs and melodies, and even fictional album collections and made-up song titles. The back of "Heaven's Ladder" lists a collection of "songs from the afterlife" called Ye Midnight Stars, and this is one of the titles on it.
Many of the titles throughout Song Reader are references to older sheet music/songs, but the Ye Midnight Stars are more often jokes/puns about death, heaven, gospel music, etc. I didn't locate any sheet music with this name.
